How to Add reCAPTCHA to Unbounce Landing Pages
If you’re looking to create landing pages of your website, you’ve probably considered Unbounce. Unbounce is the leading industry for landing page creation. It’s a bit pricey though, with their cheaper “Launch” plan at a whooping $90 USD a month.
(What costs so much? Their fancy warp-speed launch animation? Ngl it is pretty cool, but still…)
With a price like that, you’d think Unbounce would have some mean spam protection in place to prevent bots. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. They have an internal spam protection system in place, but in my experience, it doesn’t do anything at all.
But, the best way to stop spam leads is through a reCaptcha. These days bots are getting pretty smart, so some might still get through, but it should at least cut out the “lesser bots”.
If you’ve been looking to add reCaptcha to your Unbounce page, you’ve probably come across this heated discussion on the Unbounce forums, where a user Hristian, a founding member of Unbounce, says that reCaptcha can’t be added because reCaptcha requires backend validation. The next comment after that, from a user named BeanAnimal, says Hristian is lying and that it is possible.
And then… that’s it. No explanation from BeanAnimal, no rebuttable from Hristian, and no solution to the problem. I love forums.
